The Kindergarten

Oak Tree Kindergarten was established in 1989, in response to the ever increasing demand for high quality nursery facilities for the pre-school child. Our Nursery is situated on the northwest outskirts of Luton and occupies a large detached house set in a third of an acre of grounds. The property has been converted and extended to create bright, airy and spacious rooms, which has been extensively equipped to meet the developmental needs of the children.

Our Aims

Childhood is a precious time. A child’s early years are the most formative and represent the most intense period for growth and development in our child’s life. Accordingly the welfare of the children placed in our care is of paramount importance to us. As the kindergarten becomes their second home, great care is taken to provide a stimulating, happy and caring atmosphere in which each child is encouraged to develop to his or her full potential.

Self discipline is considered important within the kindergarten. We want the children to learn respect for each other and the environment within which they live. Great emphasis is placed on good social skills and the value and courtesy of good ‘old fashioned’ manners!

Through play, your child can learn, most effectively and effortlessly. Your child’s natural curiosity and desire to learn can be stimulated through thoughtful guidance. The timetable provides a full a varied programme designed to develop physical, intellectual, language, emotional and social skills. The children are given every opportunity to explore, manipulate, collaborate and imagine through child initiated and more structured activities.

The activities we provide are guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) to support children in their development. More detailed information regarding this can be obtained via the manager.

We aim to ensure that children leave the kindergarten with a sound educational grounding and that they are happy, confident, social beings fully equipped to enter ‘big school’.
