Our Rooms

From the moment you step in to our nursery you will be welcomed into our homely and secure environment. Each parent is valued and the children are loved and cared for by experienced and dedicated staff who only strive for the best.

Growing and Moving On

At Oak Tree Kindergarten, we understand that every child’s journey is unique. As children grow, they naturally move through our rooms – from the gentle care of Wrens, to the playful exploration of Robins, the discovery and independence of Kingfishers, and the creativity and confidence of Owls and Red Kites.

Transitions between rooms are carefully planned and supported. We work closely with parents to ensure each move is smooth and positive, introducing children gradually to new staff, spaces, and routines.

This step-by-step journey helps children feel secure and excited about their next stage of learning, building the confidence and skills they need for school and beyond.

Wrens – Babies Under One

Our Wrens room is a calm, nurturing space designed especially for our youngest children. With cosy areas for rest, gentle sensory play, and lots of one-to-one care, we make sure every baby feels safe, loved, and secure.

Our experienced staff follow each baby’s individual routine for feeding, sleeping, and play, working closely with parents to ensure consistency between home and nursery. From first smiles to first steps, we celebrate every milestone together.

In the Wrens room, your baby will be cared for in a warm, homely environment where they can explore, discover, and begin their exciting journey of learning and development.

Robins – Under Two

Our Robins room is a safe and stimulating space for curious toddlers as they begin to explore the world around them. With plenty of opportunities for sensory play, music, movement, and early language development, we encourage each child’s natural curiosity.

The routine in Robins balances play with rest, ensuring children feel secure and cared for as they grow in confidence. Our dedicated staff support children as they take their first steps, form early friendships, and develop their independence.

Kingfishers – Under Three

In the Kingfishers room, children are encouraged to play, explore, and discover through a wide range of exciting activities. From creative arts and messy play to outdoor adventures, every day brings new opportunities to learn and grow.

This is an important stage for building communication and social skills. Our team supports children in developing their language, independence, and confidence, always tailoring activities to each child’s interests and needs.

Owls – Under Four

The Owls room is a lively, engaging environment where children’s imaginations can soar. Here, we focus on developing early learning skills through play, stories, role play, and hands-on activities.

Children are encouraged to explore, experiment, and express themselves, preparing them for the next stage of their learning journey. With a strong emphasis on social skills, independence, and creativity, the Owls room helps children grow into confident, curious learners.

Red Kites – Under Four in Acorn House

Our Red Kites room in Acorn House offers a warm, homely environment for children under four. With smaller group sizes, children benefit from close relationships with staff and a calm, supportive setting.

Here, children enjoy a mix of free play and structured activities that promote independence, confidence, and a love of learning. The Red Kites room provides a wonderful balance of nurture and challenge, helping children take important steps on their journey towards school readiness.
